Nokia and NVIDIA have teamed up to create an Open-RAN/vRAN edge platform and ecosystem that delivers accelerated RAN performance as well as supporting advanced industrial AI workloads at the edge (example: machine vision/recognition). This is an instance of Nokia’s commitment to “anyRAN”, announced at last year’s MWC Barcelona (February 2023).

In this research note we look at how this collaboration works, and the implications and possibilities for AI at the network edge.
